19th March 2006 - Sunday Sorry for the long wait for this blog entry. Been a bit busy try to get advertising going to more widely promote the site. Still pulling in a few thousand visits per week and have sold a bunch of pixels. If you are a pixel advert owner on this site, please let me know how your ads are performing in terms on sales and I'll include this in the next blog - a bit of extra coverage never hurt! Posted at:16:24 by Rich 26th February 2006 - Sunday I have signed up to Alexa - the website ranking site from Amazon and with the over 20,000 visitors in the one month since the site launch, it has put us around the 100,000th position of all websites in the world (according to Alexa - weekley average) The 3 month average shown at the bottom of the main page shows the average position for the last 3 months. Bearing in mind we have only be running for 1 month, this figure is pretty good. Its getting better each week as the stats update themselves from Alexa. For some nice graphs and stats, go to Alexa

I can't quite believe the interest, but its obviously working for the advertisers. I've updated the graphics with a more updated London theme and given the buses, tubes and taxis a bit fo life! Let me know what you think... Visitor count is up again - over 1,000 visitors per day... Posted at: 09:39 by Rich 10th February 2006 - Friday More adverts sold and I have now increased the price to 2 cents per pixel. Theres now enough interest and I've got to get the prize fund up!!! Also added a nice new section of Fun & Games to entertain whilst bored at work... have a go here Visitor count is up massively - nearly 500 unique visitors per day... Posted at: 11:22 by Rich 5th February 2006 - Saturday The prize draw has had a better response than I expected. Another load of paid adverts went live in the last fews days - looks like I have enough interest to increase the price of the pixels as they are currently on 1 cent per pixel - might change the offer to 10 cents per pixel to keep interest going, but got to get that prize fund up to make it a worthy prize.... Also added a "Tell your Friends" section to let you easily tell your friends via e-mail - the more the merrier and you get yourself another entry into the prize draw for every friend you tell. Keep clicking and tell your friends... Posted at: 15:56 by Rich 1st February 2006 - Wednesday Been a busy week this week. Promotion for 1cent per pixel is really working. 20th January 2006 - Friday No hits so far... hmm. Going to try Google adWords to get some attention. Let see what happens... wish me luck! Also persuaded a friend's Dad to purchase 300 pixels - Million Dollar London has begun!!! Posted at: 21:37 by Rich |
19th January 2006 - Thursday Saw the "Million Dollar Homepage" by Alex Tew for the first time the other day. I was so impressed I had to try myself - with a slight difference... hopefully this will work, dispite the fact that the idea is not unique... Like Alex, I too am in need of making some quick cash (who isn't). Unlike Alex I have managed to get myself into large amounts of debt living in London. Being an NHS nurse in London doesn't come cheap. So I thought London could help pay back my debts with the help of pixel advertising, and so "Million Dollar London" is born... Alex thought: "The way I see it though: I've got nothing to lose by trying. And I'm sure it'll be fun." and I agree So anyway, enlisting the support of a friend (who knows HTML and has Paypal etc) I've spent the last few days building the site, registering the domain name, and working out a plan. And here is the result, please buy some pixels... Posted at: 23:23 by Rich |
